I believe I learn a good lesson today.
Bao Tran told me she once took a "Death and Dying Psychology" class. She also told me an inspiring story of a dying man who took this class before her, told by Bao Tran's teacher.
This man, who is around 30ish to 40ish, had brain cancer. He was told by the doctor that he has only 6 months to live. He then retired, and took the "Death and Dying Psychology" class. In this class, he learned "The way you live is the way you die." It has to do with how your mentality affects our physical illness. For instance, if you live selfish, you'll die lonely. If you live unhappy, you'll die feeling pain. If you mind suffer for ill-thought, your body feel ill too. Check yourself when you're depress, if your body really is feeling the pain. Therefore, please live happy.
Anyway, this man decided to change his life. He lets things go. He lets go of bad thought and express his feeling more. He gives people real compliments. He thinks positively and act positively. He's more open and willing to share his feeling. In a way he's happier and I bet the people around him do too. To the record, his life does not end 6 months later but he lives for years after that. I'm not sure if he's still alive right now... but it is inspiring how happiness can change a person's life.
So.... live a happier life people. Be open, positive, kind, and give real compliment. Try to see the good sides of people and including yourself.
Well, even though I can't always be kind, but I will do what I have to do. I'm being true to myself; ..and letting go is something I definitely need to practice.
