| Trong sách Eat Right For Your Metabolism, Felicia Drury Kliment nói cách ăn uống của chúng ta không đúng sẽ tạo ra bệnh hoạn và "nặng ký" hơn cũng như buồn nản, chán chường, mệt mỏi ...v..v. Trong cơ thể chúng ta kén chọn thức ăn lắm, và tác giả chia các miệng ăn ra làm 3 loại: dạng ăn thịt, ăn gạo, và cả hai. Trong tiếng Anh gọi là Meat Eater, Grain Eater, và Balance Eater. Ví dụ, nếu bạn là Meat Eater thì sẽ không tiêu hoá được nhiều thành phần gạo hay bột, ngược lại Grain Eater cũng sẽ không tiêu hoá được nếu ăn nhiều thịt. Biết được bạn thuộc dạng nào sẽ dể dàng "trừng trị" cái bụng và "cưng" nó hơn, cũng là giúp bạn tiêu hóa tốt, giảm bệnh hoạn cũng như tâm lý siêu căng thẳng, mệt mỏi. Niacin Self-Test as a Measure of Potassium and Calcium Levels
The niacin test is a far more accurate barometer of potassium and calcium levels in the body than either the blood test or hair analysis. You may have elevated calcium and potassium in your blood not because you’re getting a lot of minerals in your diet or taking mineral supplements, but because your cells aren’t absorbing them. And low mineral levels in your hair aren’t necessarily an indication that they are low in other parts of your body. | Grain eaters need more of the following foods: (Eat less root food like carrot ..etc.)
• Green leafy vegetables: spinach, kale, chard, collard greens, arugula, dandelion greens
• Potatoes: preferably undercooked to preserve the nutrients
• Beans: black, lima, and kidney; lentils and fermented soy, such as tempeh, tofu, and miso soup
• Grains: brown rice, corn, wheat, rye, quinoa, couscous, spelt, oatmeal, millet, barley, kasha, and wheat berries
• Poultry: chicken, turkey, duck, and goose (The French in the Gascony region of France have less heart disease than people in other parts of France. This has been attributed to their daily consumption of duck and goose fat.)
• Fish: especially sardines, anchovies, and wild salmon
• Seafood: such as clams, oysters, shrimp, lobster, crabmeat, and scallops (These are high in minerals.)
• Fruit and sour-tasting foods: yogurt and vinegar (Apple cider vinegar is healthier than other kinds of vinegar because it contains less acetic acid.)
• Unsaturated fats and oils: extra virgin olive oil (use pure olive oil for cooking), coconut oil (doesn’t need to be refrigerated), oil-rich avocadoes, and sesame seeds and flaxseeds to help satisfy the body’s EFA (essential fatty acid) requirements.

| Meat eaters need more of the following foods:
• Root vegetables: turnips, parsnips, rutabagas, beets, carrots, potatoes preferably undercooked to preserve nutrients
• Lighter-colored vegetables: green peas, string beans, cauliflower, broccoli, corn, asparagus, artichokes, cabbage, and brussels sprouts
• Lettuce: all varieties, especially romaine and iceberg (Exception: pregnant women shouldn’t eat iceberg lettuce because it has been genetically altered.)
• Red meat: veal, beef, lamb, pork, venison
• Nuts and seeds: as wide a variety as possible, but especially almonds, hazelnuts, peanuts, chestnuts, pistachios, walnuts, cashews, pecans, and macadamia nuts because they have the most fiber and highest nutrient values
• Saturated fats and oils: lots of butter (slows up the meat eater’s overly rapid digestion), meat fat, including some duck or goose fat because it prevents heart disease, coconut oil (doesn’t need to be refrigerated), and extra-virgin olive oil (use pure olive oil for cooking)
• Some cheese and a small amount of fermented milk products: such as kefir and buttermilk (These milk products are easy for adults to digest because the lactose has been broken down by the fermentation process.)
• Eggs: five to ten weekly (People in many countries have, throughout history, satisfied most of their protein requirements with eggs because they couldn’t afford to eat meat on a regular basis.) | |

If the niacin test indicates that you are an omnivore, that is, your digestion is neither too fast nor too slow, you are lucky on two counts. First, you are more likely to enjoy good health than either the meat eater or the grain eater. Second, unlike the meat eater and the grain eater, you can eat a wide variety of foods.
